Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Phi Mu Delta Educational Foundation?
The Phi Mu Delta Educational Foundation is the charitable arm of Phi Mu Delta Fraternity. It exists to support the educational, leadership, and personal development of our undergraduate brothers through scholarships, grants, and programming. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Does my donation really make a difference?
Absolutely. Every dollar helps. Whether it's a large gift or a small monthly contribution, your support allows us to provide life-changing opportunities to undergraduate brothers. From sending a student to a leadership conference to awarding scholarships or providing emergency aid, your gift directly impacts lives.
What can I donate?
In addition to monetary donations, many supporters choose to give in the form of:
  • Recurring monthly contributions
  • Employer matching gifts
  • Establish a scholarship in honor or memory of a brother
  • Planned giving (wills, bequests, and estate gifts)
  • Real Estate
  • Appreciated stock or securities
If you're considering a unique or non-traditional gift, feel free to contact us to discuss options.
I can't donate a lot. How can I still support?
Small, recurring gifts can have a big impact—especially when combined with the support of fellow brothers. Consider joining the 1918 Society, our monthly giving club. Just $19.18 a month helps sustain scholarships, leadership development, and emergency support year round—and shows your ongoing commitment to the brotherhood.
Can I designate my donation to a specific chapter?
Yes. When making your donation, you can indicate a chapter you'd like to support. Designated gifts help fund chapter-specific scholarships, programming, or leadership experiences. If no designation is made, your gift goes to the Foundation's general fund to address the most urgent needs across all chapters.
How are my donations used?
Your contributions go directly toward:
  • Scholarships to reward academic achievement
  • Leadership conference sponsorships for undergraduates
  • Educational programming for chapters
  • Emergency financial support for brothers in crisis
  • Chapter officer training and development programs
  • Resources that promote values-based leadership and brotherhood
Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes. The Phi Mu Delta Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You'll receive a receipt for your records upon donation.
How can I make a donation?
You can give online securely through our website. We also accept mailed checks, recurring contributions, employer-matched gifts, and planned giving. Visit our Ways to Give page for more details or contact us directly if you'd like assistance.
Who benefits from the Foundation’s work?
Undergraduate members benefit most directly through scholarships, leadership training, and chapter programming. Alumni and volunteers benefit from a stronger national brotherhood built on shared values, growth, and lifelong connection.
How can I apply for a scholarship?
Scholarships are awarded annually. Applications typically open each spring and are available to all undergraduates in good standing. Follow our website and social media for details and deadlines.
Does the Foundation provide emergency assistance?
Yes. We offer limited financial assistance to undergraduates facing personal or family emergencies. Contact the National Office to begin the request process.
I’m an undergraduate—how do I access these resources?
Talk with your chapter leadership or contact the National Office. Scholarship and leadership development opportunities are available throughout the year, and your chapter may already be benefiting from them.
