 Philadelphia, PA - On March 18, 2024, the Mu Omega Provisional Chapter of Phi Mu Delta at Temple University demonstrated their commitment to community service by organizing a successful blood drive on campus in partnership with the American Red Cross.
President of the Provisional Chapter expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "We had been working for a month to have a blood drive with the American Red Cross! Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. It is essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. Whether a patient receives whole blood, red cells, platelets or plasma, this lifesaving care starts with just one donation. We were able to get 12 people to donate blood and help save lives this month, especially as there is a great need for blood in Philadelphia." According to Chapter President Jared Patten, "This event was aimed at promoting the Folding@Home initiative, which assists the medical industry in understanding the mechanisms behind diseases like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's through protein folding. Folding@Home is software designed to utilize a portion of your computer's hardware for running protein folding simulations." Folding@Home is a pioneering software that harnesses the computational power of volunteers' computers to conduct protein folding simulations, offering invaluable support to the medical industry in understanding disease pathways.  Ohio Northern University's Phi Mu Delta Chapter recently organized a Brotherhood Retreat at Maumee Bay State Park from March 9th to the 11th. The serene surroundings of Maumee Bay State Park, a reflection of Lake Erie's grandeur, provided the perfect backdrop for fostering camaraderie and engagement among the fraternity members.
During this retreat, the brothers of Phi Mu Delta had the opportunity to deepen their bonds and understanding of each other and the fraternity. According to Robert Klise, the chapter's Vice President of Membership, "Brothers learned about each other and the fraternity more while enjoying quality time hiking in the park, playing poker, and engaging in various other activities." The retreat not only offered a break from the usual routine but also encouraged personal growth and a stronger sense of brotherhood among the members. On February 29th, the provisional chapter took a proactive step towards encouraging student participation in the democratic process by hosting a voter registration drive on campus. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across the university, with over 30 students taking the opportunity to check their voter registration status and register to vote. Louis DiPede, President of the Provisional Chapter, expressed his satisfaction with the event, stating, "We had the opportunity to connect with students from all over campus with a strong voter drive. One strong advantage to our drive was being able to connect with Resident Assistants and get over 30 students to check their voter registration and register to vote." Later that evening, the chapter organized a watch party for the 2024 Free and Fair elections Debate, focusing on showcasing third-party candidates for the upcoming presidential election. The event provided students with an opportunity to engage with diverse political viewpoints and foster discussions on critical issues facing the nation. As stated by Brian Brown, Vice President of Member Development of the Provisional Chapter, "We took a trip to TopGolf where we split brothers into 2 groups which enabled more open conversations. We saw that brothers grew closer together through helping each other with swings, breaking down barriers and getting to know each other on a deeper level."

Global Links, a non-profit organization established in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1989, focuses on bridging the gap between surplus medical materials from US hospitals and the healthcare systems of underserved communities worldwide.  The Susquehanna Chapter of Phi Mu Delta recently organized and hosted a Fireside Chat exclusively for its members. The event, which aimed to foster open communication and support among brothers, was spearheaded by the chapter's mental Health and Wellness chair, Tom Garrity, and Vice President of Membership, Ben Hornig.
During the Fireside Chat, brothers were encouraged to discuss any issues they were facing in their personal lives, within the chapter, or any other topics they wished to bring up. Nathan McCue, the chapter's VP of Member Development, highlighted the significance of this gathering, stating, "The fireside chat allowed brothers to talk about the issues affecting them inside and outside the fraternity. Giving them a space to be honest and share their feelings and allow others to help them work through those feelings. Brothers shared things bothering them at home, things bothering them in school, and things bothering them within the fraternity." The Phi Mu Delta chapter at Robert Morris University demonstrated their commitment to service and community engagement by actively supporting the 48th Annual Spring Thaw race coordinated by GCXC on February 24, 2024. Over 500 runners participated in the event, with distances ranging from 5 to 20 miles, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere that brought together running clubs from across Pittsburgh, as well as families and friends. This year, the event partnered with 412 Food Rescue, a local organization dedicated to combating food insecurity in Pittsburgh, as the beneficiary of the race. Through their involvement in the event, Phi Mu Delta showed their dedication to making a positive impact on their community by supporting a worthy cause. "We are proud to have been a part of the 48th Annual Spring Thaw race and to have supported 412 Food Rescue in their important mission to fight food insecurity in Pittsburgh," said RMU Chapter Vice President of Member Development, Trey Reichenfeld. “We’ve partnered with GCXC Racing in the past and we're excited to help out again for this race. It was inspiring to see the community come together to participate in the race and raise awareness about this critical issue." As part of their involvement in the event, Phi Mu Delta members assisted with registration and manned water stations to ensure the smooth running of the race and the comfort of the participants.  Phi Mu Delta Fraternity, a leading fraternity dedicated to fostering leadership and brotherhood among its members, has announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at helping its graduating seniors tap into the wealth of knowledge and experience of its alumni network.
In an effort to provide valuable career resources and networking opportunities to its graduating seniors, the fraternity is inviting all members of the Class of 2024 to submit their resumes and contact information. This information will be compiled into a comprehensive resume bank, which will then be shared with Phi Mu Delta's 10,000 living alumni through the fraternity's monthly newsletter, The Lion Line. The fraternity's Executive Director, Sam Waltemeyer, expressed his enthusiasm for the new initiative, stating, "We are thrilled to offer this valuable resource to our graduating seniors. By connecting them with our extensive alumni network, we aim to enhance their post-graduation prospects and provide them with a strong foundation for their professional journeys." This initiative is part of Phi Mu Delta's ongoing commitment to enriching the undergraduate membership experience and empowering its members to succeed in their chosen career paths. It follows the successful launch of the PhiGROW program, which assists fraternity leaders in identifying and articulating the employable transferable skills they have acquired through their extracurricular activities.
