Phi Mu Delta Honors Vidad Malik with James A. Vitale Outstanding Volunteer Award

8/12/2024

At the 61st Conclave in Providence, Rhode Island, Phi Mu Delta Fraternity celebrated the exceptional contributions of one of its dedicated members, Vidad Malik. In a heartwarming ceremony, Vidad was presented with the prestigious James A. Vitale Outstanding Volunteer Award, recognizing his unwavering commitment to the fraternity's growth and success.

Vidad, an initiate of the Mu Psi Provisional Chapter at Stockton University in New Jersey, has been making waves in his role as the Fraternity's Provisional Chapter Specialist. With a warm smile and a knack for nurturing new chapters, Vidad has become an indispensable part of Phi Mu Delta's expansion efforts.
As Provisional Chapter Specialist, Vidad's job is no small feat. He's the guiding light for fledgling chapters, helping them navigate the exciting yet challenging journey towards chartered status. From offering sage advice to collaborating with volunteers, Vidad's fingerprints can be found on the success stories of many of our newest chapters.

"Vidad embodies the spirit of brotherhood and service that Phi Mu Delta holds dear," said Sam Waltemeyer, Phi Mu Delta's Executive Director. "His dedication to our provisional chapters is nothing short of inspirational. He's not just helping these chapters grow; he's shaping the future of our fraternity."

The James A. Vitale Outstanding Volunteer Award, named after a titan in Phi Mu Delta's history, is not given lightly. Brother Vitale, who served as Executive Secretary in 1964 and opened the first National Headquarters in 1966, set a high bar for fraternity service. This award, which recognizes outstanding contributions from a National Council member, is a testament to Vidad's impact on our organization.

Vidad's approach to chapter development is both hands-on and heartfelt. He doesn't just offer guidance from afar; he rolls up his sleeves and dives into the nitty-gritty of chapter life.

As we celebrate Vidad's achievement, we're reminded of the power of volunteerism within Phi Mu Delta. It's dedicated members like Vidad who keep our fraternity's flame burning bright, embodying our founders' ideals of democracy, brotherhood, and service.

The 61st Conclave in Providence served as the perfect backdrop for this recognition, bringing together brothers from across the nation to celebrate our shared bonds and honor those who go above and beyond. As Vidad accepted his award to a standing ovation, it was clear that his impact extends far beyond his official role – he's become a brother and mentor to countless members of our Phi Mu Delta family.

Congratulations, Vidad Malik, on this well-deserved recognition. Your tireless efforts and boundless enthusiasm continue to inspire us all, reminding us of the true meaning of fraternity. Here's to many more years of your invaluable service to Phi Mu Delta!
