On Thursday, September 21, 2023, Phi Mu Delta Fraternity hosted a significant virtual Town Hall meeting that showcased the fraternity's commitment to its core value of Democracy. The event drew representatives from nearly every chapter across the fraternity, fostering open dialogue and collaboration. Members of the National Council, including Thomas Stephen, Mike Doran, Tim Schafer, and Phil Morin, participated actively in this engaging and constructive gathering.

A significant highlight of this virtual Town Hall meeting was the insightful presentation by Michael Gallagher, the chapter President of the Mu Beta Chapter at Ohio Northern University. Michael's presentation centered on Phi Mu Delta's National Risk Management Policy, emphasizing the importance of risk management within the fraternity.

Aidan Andrews, Phi Mu Delta's recently appointed volunteer Growth Strategy Facilitator, used this platform to introduce himself to undergraduate members. His presence at the event underscored the fraternity's commitment to supporting its members and chapters' growth and development.

The Town Hall meeting featured lively debates on two critical topics. The first focused on enhancing the new member education experience, with attendees voicing a strong desire to ensure that new members establish authentic and meaningful relationships with existing members. This commitment to meaningful connections aligns with Phi Mu Delta's dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive brotherhood, reflecting its core value of Democracy.

Additionally, attendees passionately discussed the significance of preserving the sanctity of the fraternity's three ceremonies. They emphasized the need to ensure that these ceremonies are not rushed so that all new members fully appreciate and understand the profound meanings and values they encapsulate.

During the accreditation discussion, members engaged in a thoughtful debate about whether the fraternity's chapter requirements effectively meet the current operational challenges and align with the unique context of various campuses.

This Town Hall meeting exemplified Phi Mu Delta's commitment to the value of Democracy, as it provided an inclusive platform for open dialogue, constructive debate, and continuous improvement. It showcased the fraternity's dedication to nurturing a vibrant and meaningful fraternity experience for its members.
