Get Involved with Phi Mu Delta
There are numerous way to volunteer for the Fraternity. Please consider giving your time and talent! Over the years, you have learned amazing skills, talents and acquired wisdom that is desperately needed by Phi Mu Delta members. Re-engaging as a volunteer is a fantastic way to commit to lifelong membership.
All applicants are expected to make a 12 month commitment and can expect to spend 1 - 3 hours per week depending on the position expectations.

There are several opportunities for volunteers:
- Chapter Advisory Board Member (1-3 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Mentor, support, and teach students
- Model appropriate behavior and hold members accountable
- Participate in volunteer training and certification programs
- Support the local Chapter/Provisional Chapter in their development
- Attend Chapter/Provisional Chapter meetings as required
- Understand and enforce Phi Mu Delta policies, by laws and resolutions
- Review and follow-through with assessment of Chapter/Provisional Chapter visitation reports
- Assist in the recruitment of Chapter Advisors for Chapter Advisory Boards
- Communicate regularly with the District Governor, National Office, and campus Greek Life Office
- Meet monthly as a Chapter Advisory Board
- The Chapter Advisory Board will function as a team to support the chapter
- Regional DIRECTOR (10 Hours Per Month)
Responsibilities
- Monthly Meeting with Chapter President
- Monthly Chapter Advisor Meeting
- Monthly Administrative Reports
- Attend Monthly Roundtable hosted for all Regional Directors
- Topical
- Meet with the Fraternity and Sorority Life Advisor - once/term.
- Assist with Chapter Retreat/Strategic Planning – once/term.
- August/January – Chapter Planning Calendar
- September/February – Risk Management Training
- October/March – Attend New Member Meeting
- November – Host Officer Transitions after elections
- December/May – End of Term Reporting/Accreditation Submission
- March – Summer/Fall Recruitment Planning
- April – Fall Calendar Planning/Fall Budget Planning
- National Council Member (5-10 Hours per Month)
Responsibilities
- Execute the Fraternity’s strategic planning process, the strategic direction and tracking progress based on pre-determined metrics with the support and participation the Fraternity’s Executive Director.
- Recommend and nominate worthy alumni and undergraduate members for service on committees and projects.
- Ensure the Fraternity uses effective financial strategies.
- Ensure the protection of the Fraternity’s assets and provide financial oversight:
- Review and approve the Fraternity’s annual budget.
- Ensure adherence to all financial policies, both short and long term.
- Require transparency in financial practices.
- Ensure legal and ethical integrity of the Fraternity, its policies, practices, and operations, ensuring compliance, transparency and compliance.
- Enhance the Fraternity’s public image and standing, serving as ambassadors and advocates for the Fraternity.
- When appropriate, select and terminate the Fraternity’s Executive Director.
- Support the Executive Director’s leadership and evaluate his or her performance annually against an agreed upon set of goals and objectives.
